Program Options Under Express Entry

Skilled Worker Streams

This approach targets work experience with people in occupations in demand in the province. To be considered, applicants normally must meet certain education, work experience and language skills requirements.

International Graduate Streams

Meant for recent grads from recognized post secondary institutions in the province. And their respective streams often involve a job offer with a local employer and, I believe, this is intended to retain that talent educated within the province.

Business and Entrepreneur Streams

Designed for those who have business ownership or management experience and wish to invest and actively manage a business in the province. You may need to demonstrate that you have a minimum amount of net worth and investment.

Semi-Skilled and Entry-Level Worker Streams

In focus on workers in occupations that have low levels of formal training but are necessary to the province's economy as in agriculture, hospitality and in manufacturing sectors.

Express Entry-Aligned Streams

The federal Express Entry system is tied to these streams that allow provinces to nominate candidates already in the Express Entry pool. This Streams allow a provincial nomination which in itself adds 600 points to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and gives one more chance to receive the Invitation to Apply for permanent residence.

Occupation In-Demand Streams

Work on individuals who have some experience in the sectors where there is a higher demand in the province. In some cases, these streams don’t need a job offer and your profile should show some experience in the designated occupations.

Community-Driven Streams

There are some provinces with streams dedicated to bringing immigrants to their territory as part of the efforts to deal with regional shortages of labor and to encourage regional development.
