What is Other Relatives Sponsorship ?
Other Relatives Sponsorship in Canada is a subcategory under the Family Class immigration category offered to the Canadian citizens or permanent resident who can sponsor certain particular relatives for permanent residency in the Canada and such people don’t have their close relatives who can be sponsored through other sponsorship categories.
Key Features:
Eligibility Criteria:
Sponsors must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, aged 18 or older, who do not have a close relative in Canada or abroad (such as a spouse, child, parent or sibling) who can be sponsored.
Qualified Relatives:
In other cases, where sponsors do not have family members close to them they can sponsors one other relative, like a niece, nephew or cousin. They may also sponsor a brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild (under the age of 18) who is not married or living in a common-law relationship.
Financial Support:
A sponsor must prove they have the financial capability to provide financial support to the sponsored relative for a set period of time while the person is in Australia, on the understanding the sponsored relative will not access social assistance.
Application Process:
To apply, you have to prove the relationship, submit background checks and health assessments and prove that the relative will be admissible to Canada.

Eligibility Criteria
To get sponsored under Canada’s “Other Relatives Sponsorship” program, the relative and the sponsor have specific eligibility requirements.
Sponsor Eligibility:
Age and Status:
At least 18 years old and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or a registered Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.
Residency:
Must be living in Canada unless a Canadian citizen abroad to which he will return when the sponsored relative immigrates.
Financial Stability:
The sponsored relative must be able to support him or herself financially and meet income guidelines.
Undertaking Agreement:
Agree in writing to give financial support to the relative for a certain period of time, without necessity of using social assistance.
No Ineligibility Factors:
None of these reasons can make them ineligible for sponsorship.

If under 18, not living in a common law relationship and your parents are both deceased, it can sponsor an orphaned brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild.
Other Relatives:
The person may sponsor one single relative of any age for instance If the sponsor is not eligible to sponsor a spouse, common law partner, conjugal partner or a child and there is no living spouse, common law partner, conjugal partner, child, parent, grandparent or orphaned close relative who could be sponsored in place of the single relative, and the sponsor has no other relatives who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or registered Indians in Canada.
