Eligibility Criteria
The Agri-Food Immigration Pilot is a pathway to permanent residency for skilled, non-seasonal workers in Canada’s agri-food industries. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Work Experience:
Have 12 months or more, full time, non seasonal work experience in Canada, within the three years leading to the date of application, in an eligible occupation and industry.
2. Job Offer:
If you have been offered an employer job in an eligible industry and occupation, secure a genuine, full time, non seasonal job offer from a Canadian employer.
3. Language Proficiency:
Achieve a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 in English or French across all four language skills: writing, reading, listening, and speaking.
4. Education:
Have a Canadian high school diploma, or an equivalent foreign credential. Educational attendance outside Canada is not recognized and to confirm equivalency, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) is required.
5. Settlement Funds:
Show you have enough money to support yourself, and any accompanying family placed upon arrival to Canada unless you already have a work permit that is in effect in Canada.
6. Admissibility:
Health, criminal background checks and security screenings must now be met to be admissible.
