Presently, Canadian government allows different types of business and investor immigrants visiting the country for business. Each program has specific eligibility criteria:

1. Start-up Visa Program:

Qualifying Business:
The applicants must also have not less than 10% of the voting rights of the business while post-acquisition ownership between the applicants and the designated organization shall be above 50%.

Letter of Support:
It is necessary to obtain a commitment from an identified organization or the funding agency which may be a venture capital fund, an angel investor team or business incubator for your business idea.

Language Proficiency:
Obtain CLB 5 in English or French if applicable as at Canadian Language Skill Assessment.

Settlement Funds:
Show that you have enough money to sponsor yourself, as well as any dependents upon your arrival in Canada.

2. Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) for Entrepreneurs:

Business Experience:
Business ownership or senior management experience is needed to different extents in provinces.

Net Worth:
Produce a legally acquired statutory liquid asset; the quantities vary across the provinces.

Investment Commitment:
Pledge to start up or expand an identified sum in a new or existing business venture within the province.

Business Plan:
Come up with the comprehensive business proposal that focuses on business venture you want to undertake and the impact it will have on the economy of the province.

Language Proficiency:
They should meet minimum requirements of language test depending on the province.

3. Self-Employed Persons Program:

Relevant Experience:
Have performed several cultural activities or athletics for at least two years at the world class level or being self-employed in those fields.

Intent and Ability:
Show the willingness and capacity to be self-employed in Canada, that one would either contribute to the country’s artistic or sport arena.

Selection Criteria:
The performance discretionary factors include prior exposure, education, age, language proficiency and flexibility.
